Borderlands Review

Just play a siren

Suit up, Vault Hunter, and dive into the chaos of the wasteland. Wondering what do expect on your first run through pandora? Warning: Exposure to psychos may cause death, temporary blindness, or unexpected loss of bowels. Playing through the game that kicked off the borderlands series is a nostalgic throwback to an older era of game design. But this old classic hasn’t aged too well especially when it comes to co-op mechanics and difficulty scaling. In co-op mode, bullets sometimes fail to register properly, and after a few hours of play, frame rates can drop drastically due to memory leaks, often forcing a full restart. Combine that with uneven difficulty scaling in both the base game and DLCs, and some players might find the experience frustrating. Still, if you can power through the bugs and technical issues, there’s a lot of chaotic fun to be had. It’s a messy but fun start to one of gaming’s goofiest adventures.

Considerations:

  • ✅ Rich Comical Story

  • ✅ Diverse skill tree and guns

  • ✅ Stylized graphics and world

  • ❌ Bugs and Memory leaks

  • ❌ Fix the f##kin Memory leaks

Final Verdict:

Borderlands gets 7 Interplanetary Ninja Assassin Claptrap Units out of 10
