Outlast 2 Review

Never Ride in Helicopters

Outlast 2 teaches us one thing: Never ride in helicopters. This time around, jump scares are swapped for heavier gore, larger set pieces, and more complex level design though it’s often confusing and less intuitive than the first game. The storytelling also takes a hit, with the first game feeling more cohesive and far smoother mechanically than its sequel. The game is still worth playing, though die-hard fans of the first might notice a few rough edges

Considerations:

  • ✅Bigger level design

  • ❌Fewer jump scares

  • ❌Wrose Storytelling

Final Verdict:

Outlast 2 gets 7 religious cults out of 10
