Assassin’s Creed Origins Review
The Reboot We Needed
Assassin’s Creed Origins kicks off Ubisoft’s new trilogy like a breath of fresh air. You play as Bayek, one of the founders of the Assassin Brotherhood, along with his wife Aya. The game’s set in ancient Egypt, right in the middle of Cleopatra’s Drama packed rise to power. As you explore, you’ll be ridding the land of the Order of the Ancients, getting tangled in Cleopatra’s political Chess game, and discovering plenty more along the way. You’ve got tons of gear to mess with, in addition to your familiar hidden blade. Combat actually feels fresh this time, and the new system lets you build your playstyle around the weapons you love the most. The modern-day arc’s a bit of a rushed mess, but Layla’s still an interesting character to dig into. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the franchise, Origins is absolutely worth your time.
