Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Review

The Viking’s Creed

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla brings the heat and doesn’t care who gets in the way. You play as Eivor (male or female), during the Viking Invasion of 9th-century England. You will travel to other locations such as Norway, Vinland, and visit Asgard and Jotunheim in “dreamscapes” a new feature unique to Valhalla. The Hidden Blade returns, gifted to you by the Hidden ones, the precursors to the Assassin Brotherhood. Your mission? Eliminate the order of the Ancients, who eventually evolve into the Templars. The hidden ones storyline is interesting enough, but Valhalla is packed to the brim with filler. It’s so much that taking breaks becomes necessary just to avoid burnout. Even so, between the Saxon fortress raids and the never-ending supply of things to collect for your growing settlement (Ravensthorpe), you will never run out of content. The Modern storyline also makes its comeback with none other than Layla Hassan from AC Origins and Odyssey. That said, Ubisoft decided to pull the same annoying move they did with AC Odyssey with the Female version of Eivor being the sole canonical choice in the story it gives the illusion of choice, when there’s only one ‘right’ way to play if you care about the story. Small gripes aside Valhalla stands out as a great game for not only making you feel like a badass Viking, but also making you feel like a Badass Viking assassin all wrapped up in one character.

Considerations:

  • ✅The Hidden ones are back

  • ✅Dreamscapes and raids

  • ✅Dual wielding weapons and the Hidden Blade returns

  • ❌Filler way too much filler

  • ❌Give us one true canonical main character UBISOFT

Final Verdict:

Valhalla gets 7.5 witty Viking rap battles out of 10
